The Benefits of Low-Code and Agile in Digital Transformation
How Low-Code Platforms Fuel Agile Practices to Unlock Better Software Development

Abstract:

The article argues that for firms to become truly digital, they need to have technology at the core, with software as an expression of the business, and a complementary approach to people, process, and technology. The article posits that low-code platforms and agile practices are the missing piece in digital thinking, as low-code platforms naturally lead to agile behaviors that change management programs often fail to achieve. Low-code shops are said to have shorter sprints, easier experimentation, more collaborative development, and reduced separation between technologists and business customers, making them more advanced in agile practices than high-code teams. The article advocates for using agile principles and practices as the source of light-touch governance for low-code development, as opposed to a ponderous, risk-averse, waterfall style of management.
